In 2011, Deloitte completed 100 years of presence in Brazil, demonstrating not only its solidity in the market, but also its ability to offer internationally recognized solutions in a customized way to the local business reality.

Although they were solid partners in the US – and in other parts of the world – JLL did not assist Deloitte in any of its real estate transactions in Brazil, since all of them were liquidated internally. This until we realized that the company had plans to allocate its headquarters in São Paulo to a more modern space and aligned with its image.

Charles Nunes, director of Project and Development Management for JLL, says the information obtained in Deloitte’s change plans was the initial phase of the prospecting work. “To gain the interest and confidence of a potential customer, we had to know its background story, for this we have the support of the JLL of the United States, which for years has partnered with the local Deloitte, JLL team,” he explains.

The wide knowledge about the needs of the company contributed to Deloitte in Brazil opting for change management in partnership.

We show them the advantages of having a management partner. We have expertise, we know how to take care of the interest of our clients and guide them about the pros and cons of every decision. This stage of convincing demonstrates that the Brazilian market is still gaining maturity in relation to the importance of the work of a real estate consultancy, “adds the executive.

Aligned with interests, the next step met customer expectations, based on a careful analysis of infrastructure, location and amenities. “Deloitte was aiming to create a new work environment, following the Deloitte Workplace global concepts, named internally as Next Generation Workplace (NGW) – better known in the market as New Workplace or Agile – fostering the deployment of virtual work place / home Office, “Nunes summarizes, noting that, due to this need, Deloitte opted for the contracting of the Morumbi Corporate Condominium (Golden Tower Building).

The project to accommodate about two thousand people, in an area of nearly 10,000 square meters of office, corresponds to a ratio of occupation of a fixed physical location available by professional, which, in addition to bringing them closer to international recommendations, seeks to rationalize occupation , Ensuring a smoother cultural transition and serving as a reserve for the expansion of the company in the medium term. “We also developed a project that met the global requirements and local specificities, considering the culture of business areas with multifunctional profiles, from auditing to consulting, finance and tax,” explains the executive.

The short term for the execution of the project did not prevent JLL from seeking to make the most of the functionalities and the use of available space in the place, implementing wireless systems in all areas and from hotelling (space optimization) to meeting room reservation via Web, in addition to creating collaborative spaces, from environments for performing tasks that require concentration (quiet space) and rooms of various sizes.

The proposal was to create an open working environment, promoting greater collaboration between teams, without forgetting the specific needs, creating more reserved spaces,” says Luciana Toller, from JLL’s Project Management and Development area.

Due to the short schedule for the execution of the work – from December 2013 to March 2014 – Luciana explains that the most appropriate was the implementation of a Design Build project. “We also have the support of an internal Deloitte team to understand all the needs of each area of the company, an essential commitment to the successful execution of each stage of the project,” he adds.

Interestingly, the evolution of this partnership has drawn attention abroad. In addition to meetings with the Deloitte team, the JLL team that meets the company meets weekly via conference call to report on the progress of the actions to the Deloitte team of JLL in the United States. “We also send a monthly report on the progress of the project to our American headquarters. Once the deadline is fulfilled, we will be a case in the execution of Deloitte projects developed by the other JLL units in the world,“concludes Luciana.
